Chandragupta Maurya raised an army, with the assistance of Chanakya, author of Arthashastra, and overthrew the Nanda Empire in c. 322 BCE. Chandragupta rapidly expanded his powers westward across central and western India by conquering the satraps left by Alexander, and by 317 BCE the empire had fully occupied northwestern India. The Mauryan Empire then defeated Seleucus I, a diadochus and founder of the Seleucid Empire, during the Seleucid–Mauryan war, thus acquiring territory west of the Indus River. After Chandragupta ,Bindusara and Ashoka are the great emperors in Maurya Dynasty.
Pushyamitra Shrunga was the founder and first ruler of the Shunga Empire. Pushyamitra was originally a Senapati "General" of the Maurya Empire. In 185 BCE he assassinated the last Mauryan Emperor - Brihadratha Maurya, during an army review, and made himself as an emperor.Pushyamitra is recorded to have performed numerous Ashvamedha campaigns to legitimize his right to rule. Inscriptions of the Shungas have been found as far as the Ayodhya (the Dhanadeva-Ayodhya inscription), and the Divyavadana mentions that his empire stretched as far as Sakala (Sialkot) in the Punjab region in the northwest. The Greeks and all other rivals having been disposed of in due course, Pushyamitra was justified in his claim to reign as the paramount power of North India and Straightway proceeded to announce his success by a magnificent celebration of the Ashwamedha sacrifice at his capital. Later Greeks were attacked by Shaka's and this was the end of Greeks in India.
The Gupta Empire was an ancient Indian empire existing from the mid-to-late 3rd century CE to 543 CE. It covered much of the Indian subcontinent. This period is considered as the Golden Age of India by historians. The ruling dynasty of the empire was founded by the king Chandragupta I; the most notable rulers of the dynasty were Chandragupta I, Samudragupta, and Chandragupta II alias Vikramaditya. As soon as the Kushans heard the news about Smaudragupta's attack on Gandhar they became refuge to the Gupta emperor and this was the end of Kushina's rule in India. Gujarat to Malwa Shaka's battle with the border Resisted in places. At last Shaka's last emperor was beheaded by Vikramaditya and that led to the end of Shaka's in India.
Towards the end of the 5th century, India came under attack from the Hunas. Yashodharman and possibly the Gupta emperor, Narasimhagupta, defeated a Huna army and their ruler Mihiragul in 528 CE and drove them out of India.“After the defeat of Mihiragul and the extinction of the Hun power on the Oxus, India enjoyed immunity from foreign attack for nearly five centuries.
There were many Muslim Attacks between this time peroid but they could never enjoyed their kingdom as many great emporers of India resisted them from different parts of India. The small list of events is described below :
Later Europeans came to India for business and took over small kingdoms in the name of allies and agreements. They looted the wealth of temples and Empires and took away all the money from India. Indian patriots like Tatya Tope, Rani Lakshmibai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi, Swatantryaveer Savarkar, Lokmanya Tilak, Netaji Subhashchandra Bose, and many more resisted this British rule and India once again became the Independent Country.
For 6 times in the past 2500 years, India was tried to be invaded by the foreign attacks and India is the only place on Earth which retreated every single foreign attack and never changed itself according to foreign wishes! The past before Alexander and Chandragupta Maurya still exists in great literature written by indian writers. There will not be a long time when India's true history will be uncovered and the world will know it. Indians always transferred the knowledge by shruti (Listening) and smriti (Remembering) but that doesn't make the knowledge questionable and falsy.
