Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit was a politician, diplomat and one of the leading female figures in the twentieth century who left behind a legacy of her own and scaled great heights. Born as Swarup Kumari Nehru on August 18, 1900, she went on to become the president of the United Nations General Assembly.
