Shaniwar Wada
Shaniwar Wada was the seat of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire.Its foundation was laid by Peshwa Baji Rao I in 1730.The palace became the centre of the Indian Politics in 18th Century.The fort was largely destroyed in 1828, but the surviving structure is now maintained as a tourist site.
