Operation Blue Star
Operation Blue Star was launched to eliminate Khalistani separatist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and other militants who had taken cover in the Harmandir Sahib Complex of Amritsar. The entire operation was carried out between June 1 to 8, 1984. Operation Black Thunder effectively followed Blue Star.
