Malik Ambar
Malik Ambar was an Abyssinian commander of the Nizam Shahi of Ahmednagar. A slave and Muslim convert, he soon emerged as regent and prime minister of the infant Murtaza Nizam Shah II, and successfully checked Mughal expansion in the Deccan. He also founded the city of Khadki, present day Aurangabad.
