Maharana Lakha was an astute warrior, philanthropist and the 45th custodian of the House of Mewar. Besides winning several important battles, he also encouraged commercial and mercantile activities. He got the dharmic centres of Banaras, Prayag and Gaya emancipated from oppressive pilgrim taxes.
