Acharya Hemchandra is among the greatest literary figures of Jainism who lived from 1088 CE to 1172 or 73 CE. He authored numerous texts on Jain philosophy and also wrote a grammar on Prakrit which is considered to be the most authoritative work on Prakrit grammar
