Adi Shankara
Adi Shankara was an eighth century Hindu ascetic who synthesized the monistic theory of Advaita Vedanta. Hailed as the founder of four Mathas or monasteries in four geographical corners of Bharat during his cross-subcontinental travels, he is credited with revival of the Hindu Dharma.
